We went up to Whistler again this past weekend. This is something we do this time every year. It was a good time. While the guys (Hubby and C) went golfing - at this course in the pic...more on that later.....I got a hot stone massage. Very very nice. Lots of shopping, lots of good food and very little sleep!
Now as for the golf course, the boys went to the golf course at Chateau Whistler. It's a WOW course. How they carved a golf course into this mountainous terrain is beyond me. The boys lost count of the golf balls that ended up in ravines, trees and mountain streams.
Changing the subject, the Canadian Idol finaly was tonight. Go Brian go!! I've never voted on a show before, till tonight.
Changing the subject again, to the most important thing and the real reason for this post.....sometimes it feels like the world is going to hell in a hand basket. NBC World News tonight ran a story about Zimbabwe running out of food. The grain will be gone in 3 days, and millions - that's right - MILLIONS of people are fleeing the country, trying to get to the neighbouring countries that have food. They are afraid of the anarchy that will no doubt reign once the food runs out. The economy is crashing - in two weeks the inflation rate has gone to 7000%. The store shelves are empty, and the government is corrupt as all get out. This is not an argument or opinion as to why these things happen and how we, as citizens of developed, wealthy nations, and of this world, need to do the just thing....nope, this is simply a call for prayer. We have brothers and sisters in Christ over there....so let's pray for them!! And lets pray for the nation - period - for all the people who need grace in time of need, food, and provision, safety, and protection. God is all about justice. We as His children are called to be all about justice too!

Hot stone massage? Sounds heavenly. I LOVE the greenery.
The suffering going on all around is is just tragic. Haiti seems to be going through a lot too - we sponsor a child there and it scares me to hear about what turmoil there is.
Thank GOD He loves ALL people and is in control.
it is so easy to forget what is happening outside our own little worlds isn't it! thanks for the reminder!
love your house btw!! and totally have to go with you guys one year to Whistler!
Glad you had a good time in Whistler...and that you got a hot stone massage! Way to check it out before our spa day!!
And don't I feel dumb, talking about Whistler and spa days..when I read about what's happenign in Zimbawae!! But...God's plan is perfect and for some reason, He's got you lined up to there, for such a time as this!
Wow is right - my hubby would LOVE to try that one out. We have one here in the foothills that he loves because of the beauty.
Wow, also about Zimbabwe. Unbelievable.
sounds like a lovely vacation...the pics of the house are lovely too! So much fun to get things fixed up around home.
Its so difficult to think of brothers and sisters in Christ in the situation of Zimbabwe...Lord..you know!
Dropping by with a hug and hello. The massage sounds great...beautiful pictures.
My heart and prayers go out for countries suffering so. Thanks for reminding us to pray.
Pray...I have. Oh for provision...may we all call out to God in our time of need and remember, it is He who is our provider...

I had my first hot stone massage on the cruise we did with mom and dad around Hawaii last October. I LOVED IT!!!!! so won-der-ful!!
We have hundreds of churches that our church relates to in Zimbabwe, the biggest one is in Bulawayo (where there's a huge conference every July). We a few big churches in Durban that are helping out now and have been doing so for decades, on the ground level. The youth in our group, for the past 2 years have gone to help out, we're sending our first group next summer.
We get emails from the "inside" (The Rock Christian Church in Durban) all the time and they do want us to pray for them. "FUEL and TRANSPORT - Whilst much improved from last year, the national fuel and transport difficulties persist. Also inflation in Zimbabwe continues to run at around 2000% and that coupled with the new and stringent money policy has led to a dramatic increase in the cost of living for those on the ground. Please make this a matter for prayer as you intercede for the nation."
I'd recommend not just praying for the nation but for the churches within that nation that have been working hard since before CNN came to Africa. They are the ones left standing after "the Americans" come in - drop their stuff off - and leave. I have stories from the horses mouth that would leave a huge distaste in your mouth from these big money raising north american "charities"!! The country does need our prayers, our finances and our hands. Apostolic giving is a Biblical principal, that is giving to those in the fields and those who brings the message of the fields into our churches. Filter it through a church (I know lots over there) though so you're guaranteed that 100% of your money will get to the final destination!
Hope all is well! Miss you.
