Whistler 2007

We went up to Whistler again this past weekend. This is something we do this time every year. It was a good time. While the guys (Hubby and C) went golfing - at this course in the pic...more on that later.....I got a hot stone massage. Very very nice. Lots of shopping, lots of good food and very little sleep!

Now as for the golf course, the boys went to the golf course at Chateau Whistler. It's a WOW course. How they carved a golf course into this mountainous terrain is beyond me. The boys lost count of the golf balls that ended up in ravines, trees and mountain streams.

Changing the subject, the Canadian Idol finaly was tonight. Go Brian go!! I've never voted on a show before, till tonight.

Changing the subject again, to the most important thing and the real reason for this post.....sometimes it feels like the world is going to hell in a hand basket. NBC World News tonight ran a story about Zimbabwe running out of food. The grain will be gone in 3 days, and millions - that's right - MILLIONS of people are fleeing the country, trying to get to the neighbouring countries that have food. They are afraid of the anarchy that will no doubt reign once the food runs out. The economy is crashing - in two weeks the inflation rate has gone to 7000%. The store shelves are empty, and the government is corrupt as all get out. This is not an argument or opinion as to why these things happen and how we, as citizens of developed, wealthy nations, and of this world, need to do the just thing....nope, this is simply a call for prayer. We have brothers and sisters in Christ over there....so let's pray for them!! And lets pray for the nation - period - for all the people who need grace in time of need, food, and provision, safety, and protection. God is all about justice. We as His children are called to be all about justice too!

Before and After

Here are a couple of photos of before and after the paint and siding job we did. The house used to have pink trim (ugh!) and a big concrete pony wall around a front courtyard. We had the wall taken out, replaced with alan block, the trees all pruned and cut back and the house trim painted. We also put "Nextstone" siding on the bottom two feet just above the base fascia. The product is plastic, but you'd never know it. It feels and looks like real stone. The pic of the "after" is below.
We're not quite finished - still have to replace the garage door, and complete the landscaping, and once that's done, we're moving the renovations and fix ups inside!! This is fun - adding to the business of the work and such but fun nonetheless!!

This is the after photo - not quite finished though. We still have some landscaping to get done and the door will be painted a garnet brownish red...but it's coming along!
